Packraft Crossing Hardangervidda
A 90 km packraft journey through the heart of the Hardangervidda plateau
A self-supported packrafting journey through the quiet interior of Hardangervidda, travelling on foot and by packraft along the Kvenna river system towards Mogen. The route links high plateau, open lakes, continuous river travel, waterfalls, wild camps and a long valley descent through one of Norway’s great mountain landscapes.
For the first two to two and a half days we travel on foot, carrying packrafts and expedition kit towards the upper Kvenna. From there the journey changes: lake crossings, river sections, portages, moving water, camp beside the river, repeat.
This is moose, reindeer, fox and wolverine country. You camp each night beside a lake or river, collect water, read rapids, manage kit, fish in the evenings and learn the habits needed for remote packrafting journeys.
A truly special way of moving through and across the Hardangervidda that will genuinely blow you away, as well as leave you with memories that stay with you long after the journey ends.
