Equipment built for real expeditions
At Nordur, all of our trips are built around the ethos Remote, Bold, Cold. We want people to experience demanding mountain and expedition environments properly, but also to learn how to prepare for them, move efficiently, and look after themselves when conditions become difficult.
To make that possible, we provide the core expedition equipment that we trust ourselves: Hilleberg tunnel tents, Fjellpulken pulks, MSR XGK stoves, and other tried-and-tested systems that have been used for years in cold, remote places. We have spent a long time testing this equipment in the field and we know what works.
We also expect our expeditioners to arrive with personal equipment that is suitable for the task. This is not just about comfort. It is about safety, efficiency, and resilience. On a good day, the right kit helps everything run smoothly. On a hard day, it can make the difference between shortening the day sensibly and being forced to sit things out.
Our rental equipment is there to help people arrive properly prepared, without having to buy every specialist item outright. It gives you access to high-quality expedition kit that has been selected because it works, not because it looks good on a kit list. Prices are provided per expedition and based primarily on length.

The Exped Dura 8R M Down Filled sleeping + mat inflator
Fjellpulken Sleeper 200 Arctic bedding bag - Once you have used one of these, it is very hard to go back.
On the first night, you inflate your roll mat, roll out your sleeping bag inside the Arctic Bedding Bag, and leave the whole system set up. In the morning, you simply zip the bedding bag closed. Your sleeping bag stays lofted through the day, your roll mat remains inflated, and there is no need to stuff everything back into a compression sack each morning.
It saves time, protects your sleeping system, and makes camp life much more efficient in cold conditions. On longer winter trips, that makes a real difference.
We both rent and sell Arctic Bedding Bags, so you can either use one for a specific expedition or buy your own for future trips. See below the blue bag strapped to yellow pulk. I keep my big jacket, snacks and water in there also.
